I agree with Ari about the need for a seamless computer/tv interface in the home, but I would argue that this is already possible and growing at a high rate in the US especially in the university community. Very few of my student and young professional friends watch TV on television anymore. They have all dropped their cable subscriptions in favor of higher-speed internet connections and hooked up their TVs to their laptops so that they can watch Hulu and Netflix on a big screen - and they also use pirate websites based in Asia to watch any show that is not available for free on Hulu, such as True Blood, Dexter, and the other premium channel shows. The presence of Hulu in the US is a major force of consumer education for the online video market, and the lack of a Hulu-type service in the Nordics prevents consumers from gaining experience and familiarity with online viewing of mainstream TV content, which is why they aren't demanding it in large numbers. I would be very curious to know the statistics on VPN usage in the Nordics to access free American and Canadian TV content.
